Who we are

RestoreBritain.vote (“Restore Britain Vote”, “we”) is an independent, unofficial supporter website about Restore Britain. We are not the party, and we do not act for it or for Rupert Lowe MP. The people who run this site are the data controller for the personal data described on this page.

To contact us about your data, use the contact form or email [email protected]. If your question is about data the party holds, for example as a member, contact the party through restorebritain.org.uk (opens in a new tab).

What we collect

The contact form

When you send a message through our contact form, we receive:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • the subject you choose;
  • your message.

Our server passes the message to Maileroo, an email delivery service, which delivers it to our inbox. The message is not stored in any database: it exists only as an email in our inbox. We use it only to read and reply to your enquiry, and to correct the site if you have told us about an error.

To stop the form being flooded, our server also holds your IP address briefly in its memory, for about a minute, only to limit each address to one message a minute. It is not written to a database or used for anything else. The form also has a hidden field that people never see, which filters out automated spam.

Emails you send us

If you email [email protected] directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our server records the IP address, browser type, page requested, referring page and time of each request, plus any errors. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure. They do not contain what you write in the contact form, and they are deleted automatically within about a week.

Optional website analytics

If you choose Allow in the Analytics control, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand visits to public pages through basic page, session and engagement statistics. Google receives page addresses and fixed page labels, visit and session information, browser and device information, and Analytics cookie identifiers. Your browser also connects directly to Google, which receives network information such as your IP address while handling those requests.

We remove query strings and fragments from the page addresses we send. External referring pages are reduced to their website origin. We do not send contact form entries, email addresses, private account pages or API requests as Analytics events. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled.

These public pages concern politics, so a page visit can reveal an interest in a political topic. Analytics is entirely optional: choose No Thanks to use the site without sending this visit information to Google Analytics.

Services we use

Maileroo (email delivery)

Maileroo processes contact form messages on our behalf, as our processor, only to deliver them to our inbox. Its privacy policy (opens in a new tab) explains how it handles data.

Cloudflare (delivery and security)

The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and may set strictly necessary security cookies. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

Posts from X

Recent posts from X shown on the home page, and their profile pictures, are fetched by our server and served from this site, so X does not see your visit. If you click a post, it opens on x.com, where X’s own privacy policy applies.

Google Analytics (optional)

Google processes Analytics data when you allow it. See Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and how Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab).

Cloudflare, Maileroo and Google may process data outside the UK. Their privacy policies explain the safeguards they use when they do.

Cookies, analytics and ads

Google Analytics is off until you choose Allow. If allowed, it can set first-party _ga and _ga_* cookies to recognise a browser and session. Choose No Thanks to keep it off. Your Allow or No Thanks choice is saved in this browser’s local storage for up to 180 days; blocking that storage may mean we ask again. Cloudflare may still use the necessary security cookies described above.

Use the Analytics settings button on a public page to change your choice or withdraw permission. Choosing No Thanks stops future Analytics collection and removes Analytics cookies that this site can access. It does not undo information already sent to Google. Browser privacy settings or an ad blocker can also prevent Analytics requests.

We do not sell, rent or share personal data for marketing, and we do not send newsletters.

Why we use it

We rely on our legitimate interests under UK data protection law: answering the people who contact us, correcting the site when we are told about an error, and keeping the site running, secure and free of abuse. Optional Google Analytics relies on your consent, which you can withdraw through Analytics settings. We use visit reports to understand which public pages people read and improve the site.

How long we keep it

  • Contact form messages and emails: deleted once your enquiry is resolved, and kept for 12 months at most.
  • IP addresses for the form’s rate limit: held in memory for about a minute, never written to disk.
  • Server logs: deleted automatically within about a week.
  • Analytics: the browser choice lasts up to 180 days. Google stores Analytics data according to the property’s retention settings; withdrawing consent stops future collection rather than automatically deleting historical reports.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or restrict or stop how we use it. To make a request, use the contact form or email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab). We would be grateful for the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles personal data, we will update this page and the date below.
