Restore Britain's First Policies

In its first weeks as a movement, Restore Britain published policy proposals on deportation, immigration, the death penalty and the BBC, and promised members a vote on its platform.

Published Updated 2 min read

Restore Britain launched on 30 June 2025 as a movement led by Rupert Lowe MP. Within days it began publishing policy proposals on its website.

The first proposals

An archived copy of the movement's policies page from 3 July 2025 lists these first proposals:

  • Deport all illegal migrants (30 June 2025)
  • Ban the burqa (30 June 2025)
  • Net negative immigration (30 June 2025)
  • Restore the death penalty (1 July 2025)
  • An Englishman's home is his castle (2 July 2025)
  • Defund the BBC (2 July 2025)

More followed through July 2025. By 18 July, the page also listed proposals including ending school holiday fines (4 July), scrapping IR35, the tax rules for contractors (5 July), abolishing inheritance tax (12 July) and legalising pepper spray (15 July).

Eleven policy areas

On 19 August 2025, four days after this article first appeared, the movement regrouped its policies into eleven areas:

  1. Immigration and Border Control
  2. Economy and Taxation
  3. Local Economy and Community
  4. Environment and Infrastructure
  5. Law and Order / Criminal Justice
  6. Elections and Democracy
  7. Civil Liberties and Governance
  8. Cultural Identity and Social Issues
  9. Media and Institutions
  10. Education
  11. Foreign Policy

A promise of direct democracy

The movement's launch FAQ said: "The policy platform for Restore Britain will be ratified by the membership. More details will be announced in due course, but every policy will be put to a vote by our members."

It said the leadership and an advisory board would put policies forward, and that successful votes would be followed up with press statements, parliamentary questions and petitions. We have not found published results of any such member votes.

Building on the foundation

The early proposals were short statements. Longer policy papers followed. The first, "Mass Deportations: Legitimacy, Legality and Logistics", appeared on 9 October 2025, and "Restoring the British Pub" on 7 January 2026.

Update (September 2026): Restore Britain became a political party on 13 February 2026. Its platform is now organised around 10 Objectives, from "Reverse Mass Immigration" to "Safeguard Election Integrity".

Some early positions have been refined since. The 2025 proposal to "restore the death penalty", for example, now appears as a pledge to hold a binding referendum on restoring it. The party's papers page lists 12 publications up to September 2026, including the economic plan "The Wealth of Our Nation" (our explainer).

See our policy guide for every area, and the timeline for when each paper appeared.
