Restore Britain contested four English council by-elections on Thursday 1 October 2026, winning none. The party finished third in Blackpool's Claremont ward and Northumberland's Hirst division, and fourth in Amble and Long Whatton & Diseworth.

The figures below come from the councils' published results. Percentages are shares of valid votes, excluding rejected ballots; where a council does not print a share, we calculate it from the declared candidate totals.

The four results

| Council and ward | Restore Britain candidate | Votes | Share | Position | Winner | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Blackpool: Claremont | Paula Brooksbank | 79 | 7.21% | 3rd of 7 | Katie Donnelli-Hunn, Labour | | Northumberland: Hirst | Eden Webley | 72 | 10.30% | 3rd of 6 | Melanie Tuesday Fox, Labour | | Northumberland: Amble | Michael Anthony Joyce | 76 | 6.72% | 4th of 4 | Amy Spriggs, Labour | | North West Leicestershire: Long Whatton & Diseworth | Simon James Tunnicliffe | 55 | 5.30% | 4th of 6 | Craig Andrew Smith, Conservative |

The Blackpool Council result (opens in a new tab) gives Labour 458 votes to Reform UK's 419, a majority of 39. Restore Britain's 79 votes put it ahead of the Conservatives, Greens, Liberal Democrats and an independent. Turnout was 22.02%.

In Hirst (opens in a new tab), Labour won 350 votes and Reform UK 210. The declaration, dated 2 October, records 699 valid votes and one rejected ballot; it prints turnout rounded to 21%.

In Amble (opens in a new tab), Labour won 439 votes, Reform UK 379 and the Conservatives 237. Restore Britain's 76 votes made up 6.72% of the 1,131 valid votes. The declaration prints turnout rounded to 31%.

In Long Whatton & Diseworth (opens in a new tab), the Conservatives won 576 votes, Reform UK 204 and Labour 147. Restore Britain finished ahead of the Greens and Liberal Democrats. There were 1,038 valid votes, two rejected ballots and 50.78% turnout.

What the results can tell us

These are four local contests, with different electorates, candidates and turnout. Their shares cannot be treated as a national poll or directly compared with Great Yarmouth First's May results, which were recorded for a separate local partner party.

In Claremont and Amble, Restore Britain's vote exceeded the gap between Labour and Reform UK. That arithmetic alone does not establish who those voters would have supported if Restore Britain had not stood: they might have chosen another party or stayed home. A claim that Restore Britain caused either result needs evidence about those alternative choices.
